Engagements

Why should I have an engagement session?

Most couples want an engagement session so they can send out professional photographs in their wedding announcements, save-the-dates, or invitations. However, there is a much more important reason to have an engagement session. It allows you to get comfortable with the idea of being in front of a camera, and to get to know me as a photographer. It is almost like the rehearsal of your wedding photography. At your wedding, I will be capturing memories all day long, and 80% of them will be of you. The last thing you should be worried about is if you will be self-conscious on your wedding day in front of your photographer. After an engagement session you will feel more relaxed about being photographed, and more familiar with me as your photographer.

Anything i can do to insure my photography looks great?

YES!  it takes equal collaboration on your end as well as mine to have a successful engagement session. check out this post for more info: http://www.kissingtree.org/?p=208

How many photographs will I receive?

Each shoot, like every couple, is different. I come to the shoot with unlimited memory, and I am taking photographs constantly. I never set limits on how many photographs you will receive, or how many photographs I am willing to edit. a good number is anywhere from 40-70 final, edited images.

Are the images in color or black and white?

Because I shoot digital, I capture every image in color, and then adjust some to black and white or other effects like sepia. I use my best judgment from experience and education to know which images will look better in monochrome.

Do you have back-up equipment?

ALWAYS! I shoot mainly in digital, and always bring an extra camera, lenses, lighting, etc. I bring at least 3 forms of storage to back-up images throughout the day, so there is never any fear of lost data. I’ve got you covered.

Do you meet with perspective  clients?

Of course! You don’t have to have booked me as a photographer to share some coffee and wedding photography ideas.

Why should I hire you as my photographer?

I blend many styles of photography together to fit your own individual style and need. I want to make your day as memorable and perfect as you have always imagined it, and I will do so by allowing you to personalize your wedding package, your wedding album, your photographs, and style of photography. I’m open to whatever ideas you have or places you’d like to be photographed. I believe anything is possible, and I never say it can’t be done. I am fun, relaxed, and allow the day to unfold itself to me without interfering. I guide instead of push. You’ll see your images quickly, and you will love my budget friendly print prices. Most of all, I really love weddings, and am always so excited and honored to be chosen to capture your day. I completely get it. I understand all of the hard work that goes into the small details. When it comes right down to it, I’m a girl, probably just like you, who happens to have a knack for photography. And what girl doesn’t love weddings? I’ve also been known to stay up until 2 am looking at wedding blogs, wedding photography, and wedding magazines. Sad, but true.

How do I reserve you as my photographer?

A 10% retainer is required, and a signed contract. Dates are first come first serve, see the calendar section. Contact me by e-mail or phone and I’ll check my availability and respond quickly!
