That's me, up there, with the brood of boys I live with. They're also my source of inspiration, and my partners in crime. The biggest boy is my husband, who also happens to be my business partner and uber talented super 8mm filmmographer. and the two little ones... we'll they're distraction and chaos, but we adore every second of it. We love traveling all over the country to photograph amazing events and milestones... it fuels my soul to see people fall in love with each other, their babies, their lives. i’ve been falling behind in the blog lately, i’m amazed that i’ve gotten the maternity series up every single week more or less on time! we’re working on SO MUCH here at Sugar Leaf. i have so many photo shoots to edit, amazing marketing material that we’re designing, new sample albums we’re putting together for you all, it’s fantastic and insane! i’m so happy to be so busy, but the blog has been slightly neglected. no worries though, much more to come 
the maternity series is coming a tad bit early this week due to the fact that i will be shooting a wedding all day tomorrow, and then hopping on a plane to go to LAS VEGAS!!!! i’m so excited! i will be attending WPPI convention this year (wedding and portrait photographer’s international) so i can get caught up on all the latest and greatest in the photography world. not to mention, i’ll be taking some fantastic master classes with the industry’s leading photographers. you can never have enough education, and i’m so excited for the thought that my photography will only get better and better as time goes on. we’re really committed to giving our clients the BEST of the best, and that means i’ve got to stay up on my game as well I’m also going to be teaming up with a few other photogs and going on a photo shoot at the neon sign graveyard (a big lot where they put all the used up vintage las vegas neon signs) with some models. i can’t wait to add this to my portfolio, and share it with all of you!

Ah, yes, week 22. i don’t know what it was about today, but i just did not have patience to sit in front of the camera. this has been a great exercise for me because i can not STAND to have my photograph taken. it’s something that’s developed within the past 8 years or so… it’s not that i think i look bad in front of the camera… it’s just that it’s… awkward. and i’m so much more comfortable being behind the camera that it makes me remember how hard it is to be on the other side.
Feeling FANTASTIC this week. I shot a wedding this weekend, and i got some funny looks when i was standing on chairs to get good angles. i’m already brainstorming how i’m going to tell the guests at my April 24th wedding (the last wedding i shoot before i officially take my maternity leave may-july), that although i am 8 months pregnant, i’m still going to be standing on chairs to get good shots. sorry, wont compromise the photography! promise i’ll be safe
