oh my…. tears. tears! Amy and Lynn’s wedding was spectacular, you can see it here, here, AND here to get the feel for the whole weekend long love celebration. the brief synopsis is Amy is one of my closest, dearest friends, and i was honored (so honored!) to play a couple of parts on her big day.  that of bridesmaid, AND photographer.  Dustin filmed the wedding with the help of myself and our second shooter, Lindsay.  between the wedding photography, the super 8mm film, the photobooth at the reception and of course taking breaks to pump since i had just recently had a baby, I absolutely could not have done it without a team, so i’m so thankful for Dustin and Lindsay.

but now, about the film:

how sweet is the letter Lynn wrote to Amy to include in the film?  she did not know about this by the way, he is always thinking of amazing ways to show his love for her.  they have a rich rich relationship, a love that i have only seen a couple of times.  With all super 8mm films, we try to choose the music very carefully, music either personal to the couple or that really exemplifies their relationship.  “slow love” we felt was so appropriate for amy and lynn…  they make a concerted effort at all levels to keep things grounded. whether that be making sure they’re both home in the evenings, going to yoga classes together, traveling to south east asia and the middle east together,  buying groceries at organic and farmer’s markets, to lynn always making Amy coffee in the morning, riding bicycles to work/school instead of driving, it is truly a slow, organic,  love.  one that evolved over the years of college and lynn studying abroad and being separated by such massive distances for so very long (years long).  and of course, the song Amie by damien rice was the song that lynn played as he proposed to her at the orpheum theatre…. and the final song i felt like celebrated their fun loving side- i can totally see amy and lynn buying everyone sweaters and teaching them how to dance and buying their parents a home in the south of france (ps… lynn speaks fluent french and lived there for a while!).

the thing that impressed me most about their ceremony (have i already talked about this?) is the fact that everyone present honestly felt like either lynn or amy was their best friend.  amy is my best friend, and Anna’s best friend, and Sadie’s best friend…. on and on and on.  that is the impact these two people play in other’s lives. it is truly amazing.

love. love. love.   :)

ps… many more super 8 films to come!  we’re knockin em down!  hope to have all weddings/films done before christmas!!!!  it may be a lofty goal… but we sure as heck are going to do our best!  we want everyone to have a merry christmas :)
